A planning application has been submitted to Edinburgh Council for the development of Harrison Park East, near to the end of Watson Crescent.

The application can be found on the Edinburgh Council Planning Portal here. Through the planning portal you can submit comments on the proposal.

The plan roughly follows Option 2 from the recent consultation.

One thing to notice about the submitted plans is the space given over to a car park.

These are the plans proposed by LKMK for the regeneration of Harrison Park East.  They form part of the consultation being run by The Waters Ways Trust Scotland, British Waterways Scotland, Edinburgh & Lothians Greenspace Trust and Edinburgh Council.

The plans aim to upgrade the east side of the park by create new links with the canal, make further use of the bowling green area,  and to replace the current tarmacked private car park.

The plans will be available to view on board the Re-union Barge that will be berthed at Ashley Terrace on Tuesday the 4th of May 2010 at 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. and on Sunday the 9th of May 2010 at 12.30 p.m.- 3 p.m.

Edinburgh Council has proposed creating up to 24 allotments in the east corner of East Harrison Park.  The proposed allotments would cover the area of the former bowling green.  This area represents about a quarter of Harrison Park East.

The draft strategy is now subject to a eight week consultation period from 26 March to 21 May. The Council is seeking your views on the contents of the strategy and the action plans which have been prepared.

Local residents are invited to contribute to the design proposals for Harrison Park East.

The Waterways Trust Scotland, British Waterways Scotland and Edinburgh City Council are hosting a consultation about the new proposals for regeneration in the park.

The event will take place on board the Re-union Barge that will be berthed at Ashley Terrace on Tuesday the 4th of May 2010 at 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. and on Sunday the 9th of May 2010 at 12.30 p.m.- 3 p.m.

The new Harrison Park proposals by LKMK will be on display and comments and feedback will be used to influence the final design.

Light refreshments will be served on board.

Plans have been released for a new path across Harrison Park East.  Whilst funding isn’t in place it’s hopped that requests can be put forward to a number of  organisations.
