Updated plans for Harrison Park East

A minor update to the plans for Harrison Park East has been submitted to Edinburgh Council.  The changes relate to the way the path from the canal joins up with West Bryson Road.

The re-aligned path has meant that the football pitch has been realigned slightly to allow a 3m path to pass at the end.

The plans are due to go to the Planning Development Management Sub-Committee on Wednesday 22nd December 2012.

Edinburgh Canal Strategy – Consultation

Edinburgh City Council is consulting on the future of the Union Canal between Ratho and the City Centre.

The proposals include development ‘hubs’ at Ratho, Wester Hailes and between Harrison Park and the basin.

Public consultation workshops…

  • Monday 22 November – Polwarth Parish Church – 6pm
  • Wednesday 24 November – Tollcross Community Centre – 6pm
  • Saturday 20 November – Reunion Canal Boat – Edinburgh Quay from 10am – 12pm,  Harrison Park from 12.30 – 2.30pm. Feel free to take the trip down the canal with us between 12 and 12.30 or at 2.30pm

Planning Application Submitted for Harrison Park East Development

A planning application has been submitted to Edinburgh Council for the development of Harrison Park East, near to the end of Watson Crescent.

The application can be found on the Edinburgh Council Planning Portal here. Through the planning portal you can submit comments on the proposal.

Proposals for Regeneration Harrison Park East

These are the plans proposed by LKMK for the regeneration of Harrison Park East.  They form part of the consultation being run by The Waters Ways Trust Scotland, British Waterways Scotland, Edinburgh & Lothians Greenspace Trust and Edinburgh Council.

The plans aim to upgrade the east side of the park by create new links with the canal, make further use of the bowling green area,  and to replace the current tarmacked private car park.

The plans will be available to view on board the Re-union Barge that will be berthed at Ashley Terrace on Tuesday the 4th of May 2010 at 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. and on Sunday the 9th of May 2010 at 12.30 p.m.- 3 p.m.
