Harrison Park Public Consultation

Local residents are invited to contribute to the design proposals for Harrison Park East.

The Waterways Trust Scotland, British Waterways Scotland and Edinburgh City Council are hosting a consultation about the new proposals for regeneration in the park.

The event will take place on board the Re-union Barge that will be berthed at Ashley Terrace on Tuesday the 4th of May 2010 at 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. and on Sunday the 9th of May 2010 at 12.30 p.m.- 3 p.m.

The new Harrison Park proposals by LKMK will be on display and comments and feedback will be used to influence the final design.

Light refreshments will be served on board.

Kite Making Event – Sunday the 9th of May 2010

On Sunday the 9th of May, The Friends of Harrison Park in partnership with Edinburgh and Lothian Greenspace invite you to take part in their popular kite making event. Other activities include face painting.

Get healthy with a Feet First Walk hosted by the Waterways Trust Scotland leaving from Ashley Terrace at 1 p.m.

The City of Edinburgh Council – A Shot in the Park photography competition

Edinburgh Council have launched a photography competition for people to try and capture the parks of Edinburgh.  The prize on offer is a professionally framed copy of their photo.  The winning prizes will also feature at prominent locations in the city as well as prestigious events throughout the city.

There are 3 categories:-

  • People in Parks
  • Wildlife in the City
  • Local Landscapes

Harrison Park Kite Making Event – Saturday 20th June

Harrison Park will be hosting a free kite making event on Saturday 20th June 2009. The fun starts at 11pm and runs till 2pm.

Cakes and refreshments will be available to raise funds for Breast Cancer Care Charity (no 1017658).

The venue will be Harrison Park West, next to the Play park. Harrison Park West is the section closest to Craiglockhart Primary, Harrison Play Group and Margiottas.

Plans for Harrison Park East Released

Plans have been released for a new path across Harrison Park East.  Whilst funding isn’t in place it’s hopped that requests can be put forward to a number of  organisations.
