Plans to create 24 allotments in Harrions Park East

Harrison-Park-Proposal-AllotmentsEdinburgh Council has proposed creating up to 24 allotments in the east corner of East Harrison Park.  The proposed allotments would cover the area of the former bowling green.  This area represents about a quarter of Harrison Park East.

The draft strategy is now subject to a eight week consultation period from 26 March to 21 May. The Council is seeking your views on the contents of the strategy and the action plans which have been prepared.

More information can be found on Edinburgh Councils website here.  The specific plans for Harrison Park are in the document titled “South West NP Action Plan” (2.4mb download) and are on page 22.

  1. From what I’ve been able to find out, no preference will be given to locals for these allotments. The council have a long waiting list for them and they’ll go to those at the top of the list.
